MCRB submits comments on the draft Privacy and Security Protection Law
MCRB has submitted comments to the Hluttaw on the draft Privacy and Security Protection Law which is currently under discussion in the Hluttaw.
These comments specifically relate to 'Lawful Interception' and Surveillance.
The suggested amendments, which are based on the expertise gathered as part of the ICT sector wide impact assessment about a rights-respecting framework for lawful interception, reflect inputs from business and civil society practitioners. They relate to the need for judicial oversight of individual requests for telecoms data, and parliamentary oversight of the operation of the law and surveillance.
