When asked what kind of responsible businessperson would they like to be known as, the majority of businesses prioritise being identified as a businessman or woman who cared about employee welfare, health and safety, and mutual benefit of employee and employer.

This was followed by taking care of the environment, and supporting community and social welfare. A wide range of CSR practices were rated as important, topped by giving donations to the community, and respecting international standards.

The survey results will be used to develop capacity-building activities for businesses in locations where MBCA is active. These include talks by Professor Aung Tun Thet, who spoke to several hundred businesspeople and members of the public in Pyay on 16 August and will give a public talk sponsored by MBCA and its partners on 18 September in Mandalay.
