MCRB and LBGT+ Organisations encourage businesses to Fly the Rainbow Flag for LGBT+ Equality on 17 May 2022
The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) is celebrated annually on 17 May. MCRB and Myanmar Civil Society Organisations working on LGBT rights, are encouraging companies and other organisations in Myanmar to join the hundreds of companies worldwide who will stand up for equality for those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) by displaying a rainbow flag on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), which is celebrated annually on 17 May.
There are several ways your business can get involved by going rainbow on the day. Your office can take a stand against discrimination by flying a rainbow flag somewhere inside or outside your office. We are also encouraging businesses to take a team photo with the flag and to post to social media with the hashtag #IDAHOT2022Myanmar.
You can also post a short message about why you are flying the flag:
We are proudly flying the Rainbow Flag this year’s IDAHOT day to show our support for diversity in our community. By participating, we are proudly saying ‘No’ to homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, and helping to raise awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.
If you can’t take team photo, here’s some other ideas for social media posts:
You could also encourage staff to change their Facebook cover photo for the day:
If your team is still working remotely, your staff could download and add a rainbow backdrop to your meeting.
